Quick post from the road:
On Saturday, I started a 2-day, 2-night cruise on the catamaran Wings in the Whitsunday Islands. We stopped at various diving/snorkelling spots around the islands to swim in the friging reefs. These spots included Luncheon Bay and Blue Pearl Bay off of Hook Island and Hayman Island, respectively. We also stopped at Whitehaven Beach, which is supposedly one of the best beaches in the world.
On Monday, I returned to land, happy to be back in the world of hot showers that last longer than 30 seconds.
On Tuesday, I spontaneously drove up to Townsville and Magnetic Island (with a stop at the Big Mango in Bowen, QLD). I stayed in Magnetic Island, but I didn't get to see any koalas. I did, however, team up with some Welsh ecology grad students to win a $30 bar tab at our hostel's quiz night.
You can check out my flickr page for some pictures of past journeys. More to be posted later.
